Legend ascribes Singhia with bewitching Princess Ratnavati before curseing it after she rejected him – thus leading to its sudden downfall and abandonment, with many buildings even without roofs collapsing instantly after construction had taken place. No-one knows for certain but many believe their doomed structures still stand.

- With sudden temperature drops and an oppressive environment.

Charlotte de Breze was murdered by her husband after discovering their affair; since then, her ghost, “known as The Green Lady”, has haunted the castle.

To appease it, he began hanging dolls to appease it – something he continued doing for over 50 years until, unfortunately for himself and those watching, he ended up drowned nearby!

6. Monte Cristo Homestead – Australia
Built-in June, New South Wales, in 1885 and known for being haunted, this colonial manor has long been recognized as Australia’s most haunted house—home of the Crawley family, who have experienced tragedy here.

- An employee fell or was pushed from her balcony and is still unaccounted for.
- An innocent, stable boy was burned alive by an abusive master.
- A mentally unstable man found himself chained inside a caretaker cottage for decades due to mental illness.
Reported Activity:
- Reports of Mrs. Crawley wandering amongst the upper floors were filed as reported activity.
- Ghostly children crying can often be found crying in nurseries.
